Rebecca puts Mansfield on the Map

First of all well done to Rebecca with her brilliant performance at the Beijing Olympics. Not only did she win 2 gold medals, but also smashed the world record. Fantastic

Yesterday was the big reception in Mansfield Town Centre, covered by all the National news broadcasters and newspapers. What a fantastic event for Rebecca and the town.

It's great to see Mansfield and all the people of Mansfield being in the centre spotlight for such a positive thing. Mansfield only seems to come up on the news for negative items, so it really is a lift for the whole of Mansfield when we have something so positive to celebrate in front of the whole country.

And didn't the people of Mansfield turnout. The estimated numbers where 15,000 which is absolutely fantastic when Cardiff got 2,000.

It was great to be involved and helping with the banners in the reception and around the town. Especially the large one on the Town Centre, seeing it in the background behind the bus made it worth the rush.

So well done Rebecca, all the best in the future, and thank you from Mansfield for your excellent and hard work.
